The U.S. House of Representatives voted on a bill (H.R. 6190) that would allow the sale of asthma inhalers known as Primatene Mist, a product currently banned by the EPA because it contains CFCs.
The bill failed to get the two-thirds majority needed to pass under suspension of the rules.
Data: Employees connected with the inhaler's manufacturer Amphastar have contributed $73,600 to candidates and political action committees during the 2012 election cycle, including $10,000 to a leadership PAC connected to Amphastar lobbyist and retired Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.).
