Track ballot measures in your city or state – $1,000 grants available

June 28, 2012

June 28, 2012 - MapLight is expanding our ballot measure voter guide to track who's funding ballot measures in cities and states across the country. We are seeking a handful of state and local groups as partners for a pilot project to track and highlight key information about ballot measures in your state or city.

Each new voter guide site will be "owned" by the organization that manages it. The responsibility of these partner organizations: fill out easy-to-use web forms with information on endorsements, news articles, campaign funding, and summaries of the ballot measures. You'll have an attractive site like this, with your organization's name on it, to educate voters in your city or state.

MapLight will also pay each organization in the pilot program an honorarium of up to $500 for a city, and $1,000 for a state. If you are interested in participating in the pilot project, please write to Jay Costa at jay@maplight.org with the following information:

  • What is the name of your organization?
  • Which state or city are you interested in covering?
  • What is the name, email address, and telephone number of someone with whom we can follow up?

We want to cast a wide net to find the right groups for this pilot project. Feel free to repost this announcement. Thank you!
