May 27, 2011 - Rep. Patrick Meehan (R-Pa.) is taking his share of the credit for blocking an amendment that would have cut funding for the V-22 Osprey program, a joint-venture between Boeing and Textron subsidiary Bell Helicopter

  • During the 2010 election cycle, Meehan took in $15,600 in contributions from Boeing and its employees. Roughly $10,000 of that amount came from Boeing executive Roger Krone and his spouse, Helen Krone, on Dec. 2, 2009.
  • Rep. Meehan also received $5,000 in contributions from Textron on Jul. 27, 2010.

The language, introduced by Rep. Lynn Woosley (D-Calif.), was an amendment to HR 1540, the 2011 Defense authorization bill, and failed by a vote of 83-334.
