Brown Endorsed by Prison Guards’ Union

According to the Sacramento Bee, the California Correctional Peace Officers Association has decided to endorse Democrat Jerry Brown for governor.

Going back to the start of the 2004 election cycle through June 30, 2010, the CCPOA has given $807,663 in campaign contributions to lawmakers who have served in the California State Legislature during the 2009-2010 legislative session. The prison guard union has given $522,313 to Democrats and $281,350 to Republicans. The lone registered independent, Juan Arambula, received $4,000.
