June 16, 2011 - The Senate voted (73-27) today to adopt an amendment (Feinstein Amdt. No. 476) that would repeal the Volumetric Ethanol Excise Tax Credit. An amendment with similar language was defeated earlier this week (see related post).
- Wheat, corn, soybeans and cash grain interest groups, which opposed this motion, gave 9.7 times as much on average to senators that voted 'NO' ($11,869) as to senators that voted 'YES' ($1,229).
