Corporate Political Action Committees Back 30 Percent of Federal Candidates

Corporate political action committees have contributed to 30 percent of all federal candidates in the 2018 election cycle, according to a new MapLight analysis.

Since January 2017, corporate PACs have contributed more than $125 million to almost 800 federal candidates. More than 1,800 candidates have not received corporate PAC money or have returned contributions.

House Speaker Paul Ryan has received more corporate PAC money than any other federal candidate, raking in more than $1.8 million.  The top 10 recipients of corporate PAC money are all Republicans.
