Dec. 7, 2010 -- Senator Ellen Corbett (D-San Leandro) has been selected by President Pro-Tem Darrell Steinberg (D-Sacramento) to serve as Senate Majority Leader, according to the LA Times' Patrick McGreevy. Corbett has previously served San Leandro as a city council member and as its first female mayor, according to the Senator's website.
