Dec 6, 2010 - According to Malcolm Maclachlan at Capitol Weekly, U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) is circulating a draft of his long-rumored plan to regulate internet gaming and legalize online poker at the federal level. If it became law, Reid’s bill -- Prohibition of Internet Gambling, Internet Poker Regulation, and Strengthening UIGEA Act of 2010 -- would throw a monkey wrench into an effort by the Morongo Band of Mission Indians to push forward a tribe-run Internet poker franchise in California, Maclachlan writes.
Below is a list of contributions from the Tribal Alliance of Sovereign Indian Nations, which according to the article is a 14-tribe organization that includes the biggest Southern California gaming tribes. In addition, MAPLight.org included contributions from the California Nations Indian Gaming Association and the California Tribal Business Alliance.
