Dec. 17, 2010 -- According to the New York Times, Rep. Lamar Smith (R-Texas) will be the new chairman of the House Judiciary Committee in the 112th Congress.
Rep. Smith represents Texas's 21st Congressional District, which, according to his website, includes portions of Bexar and Travis Counties and all of Comal, Real, Kerr, Bandera, Kendall and Blanco Counties.
Smith is a graduate of Yale University and the Southern Methodist University School of Law.
