Voter’s Edge, Nonpartisan Guide to Ballot Measures, Expands to CA Counties and Cities

Pamela Behrsin | November 01, 2012

Nov. 1, 2012-MapLight, a nonpartisan research organization that reveals money's influence on politics, announces the statewide expansion of Voter's Edge, a nonpartisan guide to ballot measures. MapLight has joined forces with partner organizations throughout the state to provide a reliable, nonpartisan source for information about California's state, county, and city ballot propositions. The project was made possible in part by funders including the Kaphan Foundation and the James Irvine Foundation.

"We're delighted to partner with MapLight to offer California voters a new and innovative nonpartisan information resource about local ballot measures and the campaign funding behind them," said Ernie Ting, Senior Director for Smart Voter, League of Women Voters of California Education Fund.

The purpose of MapLight Voter's Edge is to provide a reliable, nonpartisan source for ballot measure information. MapLight Voter's Edge shows each proposition's Funding Data—a top 10 list of contributors; Summary Information—what a "YES" or a "NO" vote would mean; the projected financial impact of the proposition; campaign arguments by proponents and opponents; Endorsements; News; Editorials; and Advertisements.

The following Voter's Edge websites are managed by our partner organizations:

Voter's Edge California/Alameda County
Voter's Edge California/Berkeley
Voter's Edge California/Contra Costa County
