Sept. 25, 2012—Former California Governor Gray Davis has contributed $2,000 to back current Governor Jerry Brown's tax plan, Prop. 30. Former New York Governor Mario Cuomo has contributed $1,000 to support Prop. 34, a measure to repeal the death penalty.
Recent Monthly Filings Show Super PACs Spent $30 Million on Federal Races in July 2012

Aug. 28, 2012–MapLight has run an analysis of independent expenditures made from Jan. 1, 2011 to July 31, 2012 by so-called super PACs to influence congressional and presidential races in the 2012 election cycle.In July 2012, super PACs that file monthly reports spent $29.6 million on independent expenditures across the country. Of that total, $25.9 million (88 percent) was spent by just five super PACs. Figures from super PACs that file quarterly reports will not be available until October.

June 6, 2012 - The Senate may take up its version of the Farm Bill as early as this week, while the House is expected to finish its version before July 4. According to the Congresional Budget Office (reports available here and here), the Senate Farm Bill (S. 3240) will reduce spending by about $23.6 billion over 10 years, mostly by cutting direct payments to farmers, conservation programs and nutritional programs such as food stamps.MapLight has conducted an analysis of campaign contributions from interest groups from agribusiness industries to current members of the U.S. House and Senate from Jan. 1, 2001 – June 30, 2011.
