July 7, 2011 - The California Assembly Committee on Elections and Redistricting passed a bill (SB 397) on Tuesday that would allow citizens in California to register to vote online. The bill passed the committee by a party line vote of 5-2, with Democrats voting in favor of the measure and Republicans voting against it.

June 30, 2011 - Democrats are looking to end a tax break that benefits owners of corporate jets as part of their negotiations concerning the national debt. Two organizations, the General Aviation Manufacturers Association and the National Business Aviation Association, are in favor of continuing the favorable tax treatment and over the past ten years have been generous in their contributions to current lawmakers in both parties, giving slightly more to Republicans.

June 23, 2011 - The California Senate Committee on Health passed a bill (AB 1319) by a vote of 5-3 on Wednesday prohibiting the use of the chemical BPA in certain commercial products.
Alternative Energy, Corn Growers Able to Salvage Blender Pumps Funding

June 16, 2011 - The Senate voted (41-59) against an amendment (S. Amdt. 411) on Thursday that would prohibit the use of federal funds to construct ethanol blender pumps or ethanol storage facilities. The measure was opposed by Growth Energy and the National Corn Growers Association.
